Calibration & fit
Get the glove powered, connected and comfortably fitted before you build.
Power on & connect
Power on the arm module
Press and hold the power button on the arm module. The glove itself has no electronics and nothing to switch on — see The kit & hardware.
Connect from your project
HEXR does not pair through your operating system's Bluetooth settings, and there is no separate app to set it up in — your Unity scene or Python script opens the connection itself.
Unity: press Connect
Use the HexR menu’s Connect Left Glove / Connect Right Glove in a headset build, or HexR → HexR Tools → HexR Haptics Tester in the Editor on Windows. See Connecting the glove.
Python: find the address
Run
AddressDiscovery.pyand put the address it prints in your script. See Find your glove.
Fit
Each finger of the glove carries an indenter — the part that presses into the fingertip and produces the sensation. If the finger is not pushed all the way in, the indenter never touches the fingertip and nothing is felt.
Push each finger all the way in
Seat every fingertip at the end of its pocket. A finger that stops short leaves the indenter pressing on the wrong part of the finger, or on nothing at all.
Check where the indenter sits
It should rest against the pad of the fingertip — not up on the nail, and not back on the first joint.
Snug, but not tight
The glove should hold the indenters against the fingers without restricting them. Route the arm module so that it does not pull the glove back off the fingertips.
A finger that is not fully inserted is the most common reason someone reports weak or absent feedback. Before assuming a channel has failed, take the glove off, put it back on with the fingers fully seated, and try again — then confirm with the six-channel sweep in HEXR Tester.
Sizes and colourways are covered on The kit & hardware.
