The Edge Singapore’s DigitalEdge looked at the FUNction Device, an assistive interface developed at NUS that helps people with muscular dystrophy keep using their phones and tablets as their strength declines. A soft, stretchable sensor picks up very small finger movements and turns them into controls.
The article reports that the team, supported by the Enabling Lives Initiative Grant from Tote Board and SG Enable, was testing the device with patients together with the National University Health System and the Muscular Dystrophy Association (Singapore), and planned to bring it to market through Microtube.
