Metaverse Post summarised the HaptGlove as an untethered glove that simulates touch and grip, from checking a pulse on an avatar to handling surgical tools, at 250 grams against more than 450 grams for commercial haptic gloves.
It reported that NUS had filed a patent and planned to bring the glove to market within two years through its spin-off, Microtube, aiming to cost less than the haptic gloves then on the market at S$5,000 to S$20,000. The illustration at the top of the article is the publication’s own and does not show the HaptGlove.
