January 2024 · VML Intelligence
VML Intelligence, the trends unit of the global marketing agency VML, picked out the trends from CES 2024. One of them, Tactile Realities, covers the push to go beyond sight and sound and add touch to digital experiences.
The report describes HEXR as the first untethered pneumatic haptic glove, bringing sensation to spatial and metaverse environments. It notes that HEXR was first developed for training, such as showing medical professionals how the body feels or helping pilots build the muscle memory of landing a plane, and reports Dr Yeo Joo Chuan’s plans for gloves that let wearers feel a handshake or a fitness experience.
