Microtube Technologies participated in the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS / 服贸会) in Beijing from 9 to 13 September 2026, showcasing the HEXR Haptic Glove in Hall 7C, the fair’s Culture and Tourism thematic exhibition.
As China’s national fair for trade in services, CIFTIS brought together more than 1,800 exhibiting companies and organisations from over 90 countries, regions and international organisations at Shougang Park.
HEXR has traditionally been applied to healthcare education, clinical training and simulation, where realistic touch and pressure feedback can help users practise procedures and interact with virtual environments in a more immersive way.
CIFTIS provided an opportunity to explore another application: cultural and entertainment experiences.
In Hall 7C, visitors could experience HEXR directly through mixed-reality demonstrations. Wearing a headset and the haptic glove, they could see and feel virtual elements such as raindrops and flowing water from a fountain, demonstrating how haptic feedback can add a physical dimension to digital experiences.
Rather than explaining the technology through presentations alone, the exhibition focused on hands-on demonstrations. Visitors could put on the glove and experience the technology for themselves, often within just a few seconds.
During the five-day exhibition, three separate CCTV crews visited the Microtube Technologies booth, resulting in coverage across multiple CCTV programmes.
On 12 September, CCTV News featured the Culture and Tourism exhibition at Shougang Park in a live broadcast, with the programme reaching an audience of close to one million viewers.
On 13 September, CCTV News examined how emerging technologies are transforming cultural and tourism services at CIFTIS, featuring haptic gloves alongside XR experiences and AI-generated content as examples of how technology can move visitors from simply viewing a destination to actively experiencing it.
Also on 13 September, CCTV-13 featured Hall 7C in a segment focused on creating cultural tourism experiences that people can sense and interact with, with the HEXR Haptic Glove appearing as part of the exhibition.
For Microtube Technologies, CIFTIS 2026 marked an important opportunity to bring HEXR beyond its established applications in healthcare and simulation training and into new areas of mixed reality, cultural tourism and immersive entertainment.
HEXR was in two places that week. While the team was in Beijing, our China partners ran a booth in Shanghai at the Inclusion Conference on the Bund, where the glove was featured by a Xiaohongshu creator.
